Songsak C&RD Block
The establishment of Community & Rural Development Block in the year, 1962 and its role have changed the face of the Songsak and its adjoining areas. According to the 2001 census the population of Songsak is 42026. The area coverage of Songsak Block is around 70,300 sq.km. The Block itself is bounded by four other Development Blocks: Rongjeng in the North, Rongram in the South, Resubelpara in the West and Samanda in the East. The destination from the Head quarter District East Garo Hills, Williamnagar is about 30 kms. Songsak has large number of flora and fauna in its jurisdiction. To gazed the Songsak Block Compound and its surroundings can be viewed from the top of the view point at Dobe Dare where enchanted forest can also be seen up to few kms. It also has natural occurring Lakes: Tasek, 6(six) kms and Bolgisim, 10 kms from Block Head quarter which is wider than Tasek that passes through Jamge Fishery Office. Thus, enhance the tourist to visit the spot.
